What started out as a straightforward update to 2008's Children Of The Can developed into a new project as author Felix Braun (Paintsmiths) completely overhauled his definitive work about Bristol graffiti and street art. The format has been changed to A-Z style and most of the pictures have been updated to include the latest work. The book has an extra 70 pages and features more than 80 of Bristol's most prolific street artists and graffiti writers, telling the story of the city's internationally renowned scene in their own words: 'Public spaces are filled with advertising and signs, and orders and instructions; graffiti is a way to redress the balance' (3D, Massive Attack) 'What painting at Barton Hill Youth Club showed us was very powerful: that there was a choice between compromising and following our own strange little dreams.' (Banksy) 'The Anti Graffiti Squad's salary gets paid because we paint graffiti. We've given them a good job.'
